Gaew Lom Phet: Synopsis

[Note: I don't know when this lakorn will air, hopefully after "Kwaam Lap Kong Superstar"]

–It’s word for word the synopsis for “Lerd Hong”. They should have kept the name instead of naming it something else. It’s obviously a remake why not call it that. Hopefully, I translated the right one.

Synopsis:
Pikul (Kwang Kamonchanok), sells candy for a living, and is 9 months pregnant with her first child. She is married to Det (Dilok Thong), a man with a severe gambling addiction.

One day, Det loses all his money from gambling and tries to coerce Pikul for more but she refuses. They get into a violent argument and Det falls down the stairs hitting his head on the floor. Scared and believing that Det is dead, Pikul decides to run away to Bangkok.

That same night, Karoon Kitjakorn (Satawat Dulyavichit), a rich businessman is driving home to Bangkok with his very pregnant wife, Lada (Uthumphon Silapan). Along the way, Karoon gets into an accident with the bus that Pikul was riding on.

The accident caused both Lada and Pikul to go under labor. The ladies give birth to daughters that very night.

Later on, at the hospital, Pikul overhears people talking that the police are coming to the hospital to arrest a fugitive. Pikul, mistakenly thought they were coming for her for the murder of Det, decided to make a run for it. Pikul rushes to the nursery to get her daughter and accidentally knocks out the name label for a child named Lonsalap. In her rush, she picks up the wrong baby. She takes Lada’s daughter instead of her own.

At the hospital Lada becomes smitten with Nuan Noi, a nurse, that she persuades Nuan NOi to come back with her to Bangkok as her nanny. Lada returns home to Bangkok, unknowingly with Pikul’s daughter, and Nuan Noi as her new nanny.

Eighteen years pass and Pikul comes to Bangkok to run a candy shop or candy stall with her daughter, Namphet (Wiew Wonarot), who is actually Lada’s birth daughter. Namphet is an obedient and respectable young woman who holds high regards for her mother unlike Gaew Gao (Erin Siripan), Pikul’s birth daughter. Gaew Gao grows up to be a spoiled little brat and her paternal grandmother Yai Sasee (Chomchai Chatrawilai)’s favorite grandchild. Yai Sasee, Karoon’s mother, give Gaew Gao whatever she wanted.

After Karoon passes away, his eldest son Kan (Ton Chayathorn) and his wife Lada inherit and take over his hotel business with the help of Chewin (Yuk “Son” Songpaisan), the son of Khun Ying Chanika( Tom Nahatai) and Kan’s best friend. He works as a business consultant for the hotel and everyone hopes that he will be Gaew Dao’s future husband.

One fine day, Pikul and Namphet are out selling candy near a construction site. As for Lada and Kan, they came out to inspect the structure of the building being construction. Abruptly, a robber jumps out with a knife in front of Lada and threatened to harm her, if she doesn’t give him her valuables. Namphet sees what was happening and tries to intervene. She gets stabbed. Pikul rushes to Namphet side to help her.

The robber backs off in shock when he see Pikul because the robber is Det, Pikul’s ex-husband. He is in shock because he believes he has just stabbed his own daughter.

Namphet is rushed to the hospital with Kan and Pikul by her side. She loses a lot of blood and Pikul volunteers to donate her blood to save Namphet. After a blood test proves that they do not have the same blood type, Pikul realizes that she took the wrong baby.

To thank Namphet for her heroic and kindness, Lada takes Pikul and Namphet in as her servants.

When Chewin sees Namphet for the first time at the house, he instantly falls for her but when he discovers that Kan likes her too, he backs off and suppresses his feelings for her.

Gaew Gao notices that Chewin secretly likes Namphet and becomes extremely jealous of Namphet, she does everything in her power to cause trouble for Namphet on a daily basis. Whatever problems that arises between Namphet and Gaew Gao, Pikul always sympathized with Gaew Gao, which hurted Namphet very much.

As Namphet is coming along in the household and getting along with the other servants, it makes Gaew Gao even more envious and angry. One day Gaew Gao pushes Namphet, who can’t swim into the pool. Luckily for Namphet, Chewin was nearby and saved her just in time. At this point, Chewin becomes disgusted with Gaew Gao for her harsh treatment of Namphet and begins to distance himself from her, which makes Gaew Gao even angrier with Namphet.

Annoyed that Chewin is avoiding her, Gaew Gao believes that the best solution to her problem is to eliminate Namphet for good. When she learns that Chanok (New Chaipon), Chewin’s younger brother, has a gambling problem with a hefty gambling debt ranging in the millions of baht, she hires him to rape Namphet but he refuses to do it. Somehow, Kan and Chewin get whiff of the plan and goes to save Namphet. The 3 men get into a violent fight because of a misunderstanding and Kan loses consciousness during the fight.

Chewin carries Kan to the hospital. After the examination, Chewin learns that Kan has a malignant tumor in his brain, but he doesn’t tell Kan.

Since Chewin knows that Kan loves Namphet very much, he forces Namphet to watch over him. Pikul is disturbed to see Namphet being so close to Kan because she knows that they are sibling. Pikul begs Lada to forbid their relationship but Lada adores Namphet so she does nothing, which makes Pikul very anxious.

Yai Sasee becomes very annoyed that Kan chose Namphet as his future partner that she wrote him out of her will and gave everything to Gaew Gao. As for Chewin, he reluctantly tells Namphet to take good care of Kan, even though he secretly loved Namphet.

Chewin couldn’t stay to single for long because Gaew Gao coerce him into marrying her. The day before their engagement ceremony, Chanok comes to see Gaew Gao and threatens to tell Chewin that she hired him to rape Namphet , if she doesn’t cancel the engagement and marry him. Gaew Gao feels flustered and burden by the blackmail and doesn’t know what to do.

By chance, Det hears everything about Chanok’s blackmail and becomes enrage. Det feels like it is his fatherly duty to kidnap Gaew Gao and to avenge Namphet’s rape attempt. WTF, some people are so illogical.

When Pikul learns about the kidnapping, she is deeply shock and goes looking for them. She finally finds them when Det is about to rape Gaew Gao. Pikul intervenes and decides to tell Det the truth that Gaew Gao is his daughter. As her father is being distracted, Gaew Gao takes an opportunity to whack him over the head with a log, he dies. Pikul is shock to witness a unholy thing as a daughter killing her father.

Gaew Gao refuses to accept the truth that she is Pikul’s daughter and threatens Pikul that if she ever told anyone, she will kill Namphet.–Crazy!

At the crime scene, the police forensic team discovered that the blood found on Det’s body has the pedigree as his, the police suspect Namphet for the murder because supposedly Namphet is Det’s daughter.

Back at the house, Nuan Noi notices that Gaew Gao and Pikul are acting very strange so one day she listens in to one of their conversations and learns that Det is actually Gaew Gao’s father. Nuan Noi begins to suspect that Namphet is actually Lada’s daughter. She runs to tell Yai Sasee about her suspicious. Before she could finish her story, Gaew Gao interrupts them. After that, Gaew Gao murders Nuan Noi with a knife and with the help of Pikul, they dispose of the body at an undisclosed location. By chance, Chanok sees the two ladies throwing something big away but because it was conceal in a bag, he doesn’t know what it is. However, he does find it strange.

Yai Sasee begins to have doubt that Gaew Gao is actually her granddaughter so she begins to investigate to find out more. When she learns the truth, Yai Sasee calls her lawyer to change her Will but sadly Gaew Gao gets whiff of the news fast enough and injured her grandmother leaving her paralyze and unable to talk.

Chanok also begins to learn more about Gaew Gao’s secrets and uses it against her. Gaew Gao can’t take his threats anymore so she agrees to sleep with him to shut him up.

Namphet works with Lada to care for Yai Sasee. One day, she overhears Gaew Gao threating Yai Sasee and learns the truth. Namphet begins to understand everything and why her mother Pikul always sided with Gaew Gao when they fought. Namphet confronts Pikul about it and Pikul begs her to keep it a secret because she is scared that Gaew Gao will do something murderous to her.

Chanok begs his brother Chewin to give way for him to be with Gaew Gao and cancel his wedding plan with her, which causes Chewin to doubt his upcoming wedding to Gaew Gao.

Chewin informs Gaew Gao his doubts and she suspect that Namphet is the reason for his doubt, so she runs Namphet over with her car.

Chewin cares for Namphet during her recuperation, which it allowed Pikul to see that the two really love each other. Pikul begins to regret what she has done to protect her biological daughter, Gaew Gao.

When she learns that Gaew Gao was the driver that ran over Namphet, Pikul decides to take action. She crashes Chewin and Gaew Gao’s wedding to tell everyone the truth and what Gaew Gao has done. Namphet worried about Pikul follows her to the wedding.

Gaew feeling cornered when the truth comes out about her birth and the murders she has committed, she takes Namphet hostage to get away.
