Here are some pictures from the first episode of Badarn Jai airing Thursday June 19. Are you excited? I’m going through website headaches but I’m still excited about Badarn Jai.
So this is how pra’ek meets nang’ek, he rescued her from two fruity looking hoodlums.
Let me lay down the scene….
Purimarn (played by Margie Rasee) makes a trip from Chiangmai to Bangkok to visit a friend. She makes it safely to Bangkok but gets lost while looking for her friend’s house. Home girl wanders into the wrong side of town (I’m assuming) and two fruity looking hoodlums jumped her. They punched her in the stomach and carried her to a wooded area. Then, Bam! Mystery guy with the ugliest looking Asian mullet hairdo comes to her rescue.
Several Punches, a Soccer bicycle kick to the nads, and a knife Cut later, disheveled looking mystery guy emerged victorious and Purimarn is saved from being raped. I swear, this happens way too much in lakorns.
Though Purimarn doesn’t know it at the time, she will someday marry dirty- looking mystery guy. Don’t let the dirt and the ugly asian mullet hairdo fool you, mystery guy is pretty well off and an heir to a famous hotel chain in Thailand. Ding-ding-ding, another lakorn cliché, one of the pra’nangs always have to be rich or an heir to something. Mystery guy is Sakkarn (played by Aum Atichart), our pra’ek.
From this moment on, Purimarn develops a major “hero” complex crush on Sakkarn. When their parents arranged their marriage, Purimarn full heartedly agrees without hesitation while Sakkarn was tricked into it. Isn’t funny how pra’ek is always tricked into marriage. lol.
So do you like it so far? I think I’m gonna like it.
Teaser 3 with Eng Subs
I swear, where have I seen this scene before? Maybe in 95% of the lakorns I have seen. Gosh, it’s like they want Thai girls to develop a “Shining white knight” complex. Guys are heroes while we girls are defenseless bystanders waiting to be saved. Why can’t nang’ek ever pepper spray or taser these fruity looking hoodlums and save herself? I want more of that. I like self-help nang’eks. Come on now Thailand, get with the program!
HAhA, someone got kicked in the nads! Good times.
“I got a knife, What’ya gonna do about it.”
