When I watched ep 1 of “Kwaam Lap Kong Superstar” I was expecting WOW and all I got was “Damn, that is one brushy brow”. It’s kinda sad when one actor’s brushy eyebrows leaves more of an impression than the actual story.
The acting is way over the top. I always say this about Exact productions, it’s a lakorn in a lakorn and sometimes that can be too much.
And don’t get me started on the kiss. I did not think the kiss was hot at all. Standing still and pressing your lips against another person’s lips is not call kissing, it’s call standing really close to someone. I laughed so hard.
The only thing I like about Ep. 1 was the brief appearance of Best. She appeared refreshing and likable compared to the other characters. I’ve noticed that she is the only one who is not overacting.
Ep. 2 was much better than Ep. 1 because Baan (Best) had more scene time. Baan and Gun (Mos) finally met, though very awkwardly. It was very cute.
Caps and some descriptions up.
Ep. 2 starts out with slutty Nae Dao giving Mos a tour of her apartment. She is about to lure him into his room and look who is waiting for them. It’s TEE!
What a shocker!
Tee tauntingly:”Nae, on the first day and you bring him into your bedroom!”
Gun is stun. Nae looks at him and tries to explain herself but Tee interrupts her.
Tee:’If you want to steal my work that’s fine but this is girlfriend.”
To prove that he is Nae’s boyfriend, Tee shows Gun his key to the apartment.
Gun doesn’t say anything and Tee decides to shove him.
Nae separates them and tries to explain herself to Gun. Tee interrupts, “What is there to explain. She is my girlfriend. We have been seeing each other for over 2 years. I been in and out of this condo countless time. In fact, I can give you a tour to prove it. I know exactly where everything is. You want a tour?”
The next day, we get a shoot of Gun showering and thinking about what transpired last night. As he is showering, his mother leaves a message on his answering machine that she has hired a new cleaner for his house and she will be arriving soon. Since he is in the shower, he didn’t hear it.
Innocent little Baan arrives at the house. She is at awe by the house’s beauty.
Baan:’It’s much more beautiful than the way they describe in the magazines.”
Finally they meet.
Baan picks up Gun’s towel to cover her eyes.
Gun:”Can you give back my towel ?”
Baan:”Give what back? (she looks at the towel) OH.”
Gun tells her to turn around so that she can see her face. She shyly turns around. She gives him a quick wai and an apology. She tries to leave but Gun grabs her hand to stop her. His towel drops. Another SCREAM!
Too cute! She hides behind the curtains.
Gun interrogates her to find out where she from.
Gun: “what is your name?”
Gun:’Oh, it’s snot nose Baan, daughter of Aunt Cee, from the house next door.”
Baan smiles because she is touched that he remembers her. “You remember me?”
Gun:”How can I not remember? Snot Nose Baan, whenever she got teased, she would run crying to her mother with her snot flowing and tattle on us. (he inches closer to her) I haven’t seen you in a long time. You have grown but you’re still awkward like always. Why are you still standing around? Do you want to watch me dress or do you want to dress me yourself?”
She walks out and then walks in again.
Baan:“I need to get my cleaning bucket and the duster.”
Baan closes her eyes because she doesn’t want to see anything unexpected. She drops to the floor and searches for the item. She is so cute!
He takes her hand and gives her the cleaning bucket.
Gun: “You’re looking for this?”
As Gun is leaving his house, Tee interrupts him at the gate.
Tee:”Stay away from my girlfriend.”
Gun argues that he is not trying to steal Nae from Tee and he has no intentions to do so. Tee doesn’t believe him because in the past, they use to be friends until Gun replaced him for a lakorn.
Stupid side story about Oum, a kid who is eager to be a star. Gun’s manager is shopping at a shoe store and Oum works there.
Gun’s manager:”Do you want to work in show business.”
Oum helps Gun’s manager to his car and suggestively touches the old man’s hand.
Gun’s manager gives him a stern look and tells him:’You can let go of my hand now.”
There is no doubt Gun’s manager is a gay man. I’m glad the PD for this lakorn didn’t make him into an immoral gay man out to get a piece of coughs coughs anywhere he can get it. The guy has standards and morals. Hopefully he can maintain his morals throughout this lakorn. I like the wisdom in this character and I would hate to see him go down the wrong road.
Oum:”If I can be STAR, I will trade anything for it.”
She is not too happy to see him because they use to be lovers. He hurt her really bad in the past.
Baan delivers the food to Gun. She shows him which bag is his and which bags are for th crew. During this time, Nae keeps calling him but he refuses to pick up. Before he leaves the room, he throws his cellphone to the ground.
The phone starts ringing again and Baan decides to pick it up. Gun comes back into the room and sees Baan near his phone. He becomes very upset.
Gun angrily:“Did you see who called?”
Baan nervously:”I just picked up the phone and place it on the counter. Did you want me to see who it was?”
Gun grabs her and shakes her: “I didn’t mean it like that. It’s good that you didn’t know. Listen carefully, from this point on, if any issues that doesn’t pertain to you occur, do not interfere. Do you understand?”
Back at the set, Nae Dao tries to explain herself to Gun.
Nae Dao lies:’We’re not together anymore. I have broken up with him several times but he refuses to accept it.”
Gun:“I don’t want to be a third hand in anyone’s relationship. You say you’re broken up but it just seems like he still loves you. I think you need to get back with him.”
She gives him a very seductive hug but he still refuses to give in.
After he leaves, Nae’s manager comes out from her hiding spot. What the…
Nae begs her manager for help and the episode ends.
