Remember her? It’s Kwang Kamonchanok, the amazing/talented actress from “Koo Gum.”
If you have never seen 1990 “Koo Gum” starring Bird Thongchai and Kwang, you better go watch it right now because it is hands down one of the best lakorns of all time.
It’s not your typical lakorn– nang’rai vs. nang’ek over a self-absorbed pra’ek with tons of bitch slaps. It’s an intriguing love story about a young thai woman torn between the love for her country and the love for a Japanese soldier sent to occupy Thailand during WWII.
When I watched “Koo Gum” a few years back, I was blown away by Kwang’s performance. She lost all inhibition and became the character. You don’t see that type of performance nowadays, it’s all about vanity and looking good on screen.
After “Koo Gum”, Kwang starred in several lakorns that I never watched. LOL.
A few years ago, Kwang went on hiatus from the entertainment business to focus on being a mother and wife. It’s been 6 years and she is returning to the spotlight to play a mother in Ch5’s upcoming lakorn “Gaew Lom Pet.”
I have no idea about the plot of “Gaew Lom Phet (Glass surrounded by diamonds)”. People have been saying it’s a remake of “Lerd Hong”, a switch at birth lakorn starring Bee Namthip, Tew Sunthipar, and Pong Nawat.
“Gaew Lom Phet” stars newcomer Son Songpaisan and Wiew (pronounced View) Wonarot as pra’nangs. Interesting, new set of actors as leads
